PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resistance characteristic stabilizing method for a transfer carrying belt which is stable in a resistance characteristic and excellent in accuracy and cleanability as well, the transfer carrying belt and an image forming device using the same. ;SOLUTION: In the image forming device 10, as the transfer carrying belt 15, ETFE (ethylene tetrafluoroethylene) whose resistance after manufacturing is out of a proper range, for instance, 3×1013Ω/squ. is selected and attached. The trial operation of not forming an image is executed for about 10 minutes and during the trial operation, in respective transfer parts at four places, consisting of photoreceptor drums 18 (18a, 18b, 18c and 18d), the transfer carrying belt 15 and transfer brushes 22 (22a, 22b, 22c and 22d), a current of 1μA is applied to the belt 15 in each of the brushes 22. Thus, the electric resistance of the belt 15 is reduced to about 8×101Ω/squ. in a range suitable for practical use, to be stabilized. After that, the electric resistance is never changed. Therefore, the transfer carrying belt stabilized in resistance and the image forming device to which the transfer carrying belt is attached can be obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
