PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a method for making a progressive display when a virtual body represented with ray space data is drawn and displayed.;SOLUTION: When the ray space data are generated on the basis of actual image data and recorded, data of a map showing the correspondence relation between the actual image space and ray space are divided into plural layers, which are hierarchically varied in resolution, so that the data which are made hierarchical are stored. When a virtual image viewed at an arbitrary viewpoint position is drawn, the image is drawn by referring to the hierarchical map in order from the low-resolution direction.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
