PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably obtain a welded joint which has the properties of a low elastic modulus and low residual stress in weld metal, and has improved fatigue strength.;SOLUTION: In the method of welding a steel structure having excellent fatigue strength, a welding material having a composition containing, by mass, 0.001 to 0.3% C, 0.01 to 2.0% Si, 0.05 to 3.0% Mn, ≤0.02% P, ≤0.005% S and 0.001 to 0.1% Al, and in which at least either the welding material or the material to be welded contains 32.0 to 70.0% Ni, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities is used, and welding is performed so as to satisfy the inequality (1): 32%≤[{1-(X/100)n}×Ni (E)+(X/100)n×Ni (B)]≤45%; wherein X is a penetration ratio (%); Ni (E) (%) is the Ni content (T) in the welding material; Ni (B) (%) is the Ni content (%) in the material to be welded; and n is the number of layers.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
