The invention concerns a lanthanum, lutetium, yttrium or gadolinium borate comprising two doping agents, said borate precursor, and the use of said borate in plasma or X-ray systems. Said rare earth borate corresponds to the formula LnBO3, wherein Ln represents one or several rare earths selected among lanthanum, lutetium, yttrium and gadolinium, and it further comprises at least a first element selected among trivalent elements capable of capturing electrons such as europium, samarium, thulium and ytterbium and at least a second element selected among europium II and the trivalent elements capable of capturing defect electrons, such as cerium, terbium, praseodymium, bismuth, lead, antimony, chromium and iron.
