PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high formability aluminum alloy sheet having high strength and excellent machinability and suitably used for a sliding member for electrical and electronic equipment, such as VTR cylinder, and a joint member such as motor hub. ;SOLUTION: This aluminum alloy has a composition consisting of, by weight, 2.0-6.0% Cu, 0.2-2.0% Mg, 0.05-0.5% Si, 0.05-0.3% Cr, and the balance aluminum with inevitable impurities. Moreover, the average grain size in a sheet-thickness direction is regulated to ≤80 μm, and the average grain size in a rolling direction and in a direction perpendicular to a rolling direction is regulated to ≤150 μm, and further, the ratio of the average grain size in a rolling direction to the average grain size in a sheet-thickness direction and the ratio of the average grain size in a direction perpendicular to a rolling drection to the average grain size in a sheet-thickness direction are regulated to 1:(0.3 to 3), respectively.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
