PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain deformation by providing a designated joint member between stiffening girder blocks dividing a stiffening girder in the axial direction, and separating the blocks from each other at the time of a rainstorm. ;SOLUTION: Plural stiffening girder blocks 3a, 3b,... are connected to each other in the axial direction of a bridge through a joint member 10. The joint member 10 is formed by conical projected bracket 11a and a recessed bracket 11b which are provided on the end parts of the blocks 3a, 3b in such a manner as to be fitted to each other, a PC cable 12 held in the brackets 11a, 11b, and springs 13 respectively interposed between the end parts of the cable 12 and the brackets 11a, 11b, thereby pulling the blocks 3a, 3b against each other not to be separated except the time of a rainstorm. As the joints 10 are separated from each other at the time of a rainstorm, the deformation of the blocks 3a, 3b... is limited to the deformation caused by wind load applied to the blocks 3a, 3b, and large stress is not applied.
