PURPOSE: To provide a method of converting into an ink receiving part and an ink repellent part of a silver based printing plate. ;CONSTITUTION: A conversion liquid for converting a silver part of a silver based printing plate into an ink repellent part while making a background part of the silver based printing plate an ink acceptant part is provided. The conversion liquid is formed by incorporating a hydrophobic compound that can be adsorbed on the hydrophilic background part and a hydrophilic compound that can be adsorbed on the silver part and/or a bleaching compound that can oxidize silver in the silver based printing plate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
