PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of collapse and damage of wind deflecting plates and equipment caused by considerable load applied to wind deflecting plate mounting posts and the wind deflecting plates in the case of a strong wind since a plurality of wind deflecting plates are fixedly mounted to the wind deflecting plate mounting posts in a wave dissipating device in a motorboat race course with the well-known wind deflecting plates. SOLUTION: In this wave dissipating device A in the motorboat race course with the wind deflecting plates, the wind deflecting plates are connected at considerable spaces between a course side wave dissipating body B and a quay side wave dissipating body C and made vertically movable to effectively dissipate billows (swells) and ripples. In the case of a strong wind, the wind deflecting plates are therefore lowered downward to prevent the damage of the wind deflecting plates and other related equipment and to attain the safety of motorboat racers and the fairness of a race.
