PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method or the like for readily, efficiently and inexpensively screening mucopolysaccharidosis in high accuracy.;SOLUTION: The method for screening the mucopolysaccharidosis comprises the following steps (1) and (2): (1) a step for measuring absorbance at a specific wave length of a urine specimen obtained by bringing a solution obtained by reacting a glucosaminoglycan (GAG)-specific splitting enzyme with urine collected from a testee, into contact with a pigment changing the absorbance at the specific wave length by reacting with the GAG; and (2) a step for specifying the urine specimen having the amount of the GAG degraded by the GAG- specific splitting enzyme within a prescribed range by calculating the amount by using the measured result in the step (1).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
