PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching mechanism capable of automatically switching between continuous and single driving modes. ;SOLUTION: A contact lever 12 is placed in such a way as that it is movable between a first position in which it crosses over the first end 2a of a contact arm 2 and can be deeply engaged in the first end 2a and a second position in which it can be shallowly engaged therein, and that at the second position it retreats from the track of movement of the first end 2a of the contact arm 2 when a trigger lever 3 is pulled, with the contact lever 12 being spring- activated so that it is normally moved to the first position. When the contact arm 2 is slid while the trigger lever 3 is not pulled, the trigger lever 3 is engaged with the first end 2a to move the contact lever 12 to the second position; when the trigger lever 3 is pulled with the contact lever 12 moved to the second position, the trigger lever 3 holds the contact lever 12 in the second position.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
