PURPOSE: To produce a hologram in such a manner that an optical adhesive liquid is made uniform and thin and no fault is caused in the production process even when dust or air bubbles are mixed. ;CONSTITUTION: The master plate is prepared by adhering a protective transparent plate 6 to the upper surface of a master hologram 4. A replica part is prepared by adhering a transparent or semi-transparent plate 13 to a photosensitive material film 8 for replica with an optical adhesive liquid 9. The master plate and the replica part are adhered in such a manner that the protective transparent plate 6 is adhered to the film 8 with an optical adhesive liquid 7, and the laminated body is irradiated with coherent light to duplicate the master hologram 4 on the film 8 to obtain a hologram. In this method, the surface 15 of the protective transparent plate 6 in contact with the film 8, or the surface of the film 8 in contact with the protective transparent plate 6 is engraved with fine grooves 17. By this method, foreign matter intruding during the production of hologram is embedded in the grooves so that recessed defects due to foreign matter is decreased. Further, bubbles produced or mixed during the production of hologram are removed along the grooves to prevent defects due to air bubbles.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
