PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bacterium for preventing a decayed tooth, a food for hardly decaying a tooth by eating, an oral cavity cleaning agent for preventing a decayed tooth and a method for producing yogurt hardly decaying a tooth by eating. PSOLUTION: The bacterium controls growth of Mutans streptococci belonging to the genus Lactobucillus, namely the bacterium for preventing a decayed tooth belongs to the genus Lactobucillus. Especially Lactobacillus reuteri is cited as the bacterium. The food containing the bacterium prevents a decayed tooth by eating. The oral cavity cleaning agent containing the bacterium makes the oral cavity clean, controls growth of a decayed tooth causative and effectively prevents a decayed tooth. Yogurt hardly readily causing a decayed tooth is produced when produced in the presence of the bacterium. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
