PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic can opening apparatus or the like, which prevents mixing of cut powder or a foreign matter in the contents of a can.;SOLUTION: The automatic can opening apparatus (1) automatically opens a can (C), whose can trunk (B) and can lid (L) are sealed up together at a can winding/fastening part (R), while transferring the can (C) in a prescribed direction. The can opening apparatus (1) comprises a cutter (34) for opening the can by cutting the outer circumference of the can winding/fastening part of the can lid, a cut powder sucking/recovering unit (6) for sucking and recovering cut powder produced upon opening the can by the cutter (34), a can lid removing unit (10) for removing the cut can lid, a contents discharge unit (12) for turning over the can with its lid removed to discharge its contents, and a foreign matter sucking/recovering unit (14) for sucking and recovering foreign matters from the vicinity of the cut part of the can while the contents are discharged by the contents discharge unit (12).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
