PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quantitatively grasp the air permeation characteristics and the purification effect of the contaminated ground with a simple treatment method when sucking and eliminating a harmful substance in the ground by the soil gas suction method. ;SOLUTION: When the soil of the contaminated ground is to be purified by the soil gas suction method, a soil gas suction hole is provided in the soil to be treated, at the same time a hole for observing a soil gas is provided in the ground being separated from the suction hole by a specific distance, the concentration of CO2 is measured at an observation hole while the soil gas is sucked from the suction hole, and the air permeation characteristics and the purification effect of the ground are quantitatively evaluated from the change in the concentration of CO2 in the soil at a measured position for observation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
