PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further correctly measure a characteristic of a material specimen just before breakdown or at breakdown time by measuring nonuniform deformation and a stress state of the material specimen.;SOLUTION: This two-dimensional stress field measuring system has, for example, a cargo loading system, a photographing system, and an analytical system. First of all, the photographing system measures and acquires the displacement distribution of a surface of the specimen of receiving a load by the cargo loading system (S101). An arithmetic operation part of the analytical system calculates the strain distribution of the surface of the specimen from this displacement distribution, and stores the strain distribution in a strain distribution file, and stores the traction distribution in a traction distribution file (S102). The arithmetic operation part respectively reads out the strain distribution file and the traction distribution file on the edge of the specimen from a memory (S1031, and S1032). Next, the arithmetic operation part sets a boundary value problem on a stress component on the basis of read-out data (S1033). The arithmetic operation part solves the set boundary value problem by the application of formation and the numeric value solution using a weak form similar to the so-called finite element method, and calculates the stress distribution (S1034), and writes this calculation result in a stress distribution file (S1035).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
