PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength variable band pass filter module to be used for add/drop of an optical network system and to provide wavelength variable multiplexer, demultiplexer, and multiplexer/demultiplexer using the same.;SOLUTION: A dielectric multilayered film 2 is formed on a substrate 1, and a high-refractive index film H and a low-refractive index film L are alternately laminated. An electrooptic thin film M having an electrooptic effect encapsulated with a transparent conductor thin film C is laminated as a low- refractive index variable layer 3 instead of a spacer layer. A plurality of these cavities are laminated. When the wavelength is varied, all voltages are equalized and next partial voltages are made into an objective voltage and then all the voltages are made into the objective voltage. Thus the wavelength can be switched to a selected wavelength on the instant without passing a transient wavelength.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
