PURPOSE: To reduce cursor touch for speedy plate assembling work and reduce operation mistakes by eliminating the necessity of the operator's command selection judgment. ;CONSTITUTION: A newspaper production system is provided with, on its work screan at least an element menu area in which an element menu of descriptions and programs and a plate assembly area in which the assembled plate corresponding to a newspaper space is displayed. An event judgment mechanism 20 judges inputs of elements from the element menu area by cursor indication on the work screen and inputs of the allocated position or area from an plate assembly area. A simple input analytic mechanism 24 analyzes the element and allocated position or area for which the inputs have been judged by means of the event judgment mechanism 20, and selects a plate assembly command.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
