PURPOSE: To surely check liquid leakage of a sealed liquid by applying external pressure to a pressure regulating valve for a cooling liquid after the cooling liquid for cooling a phosphor screen is filled and sealed in the front part of the phosphor screen. ;CONSTITUTION: A cooling liquid 4 to cool the front face of a display screen 3 of a cathode-ray tube 1 is stored in a coupler 10 and thus the cooling liquid is put between the display screen 3 and lens 11. A pressure regulating valve 12 and a pressure regulating valve holder 13 to control the pressure of the cooling liquid 4 are fitted in the coupler 10. High pressure air is supplied to the holder 13 through a prescribed opening 17 of an air supplying apparatus 14 and pressure is applied to the pressure regulating valve 12 as to pressure the cooling liquid 4 and check liquid leakage. A rubber packing 16 is employed to keep the air-tightness of the part, to which the pressure regulating valve holder 13 is strongly pressed, of the air supplying apparatus 14.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
