PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means capable of efficiently monitoring, in real time, the state of gas mixture in a cylinder, i.e., charge composition. SOLUTION: This integrated engine combustion monitoring system for monitoring the composition of burnt matter, pressure, or temperature comprises at least one structural body having a light communication channel (LCC) buried in a cylinder head gasket and a sensor. An air cavity, a light refractive index gel, or polymer may be disposed between the sensor and the LCC. The sensor comprises various shapes or configurations of sensing parts. The LCC is formed of one or more materials such as the polymer formed in a strand or the other structural shape and assembled in the cylinder head gasket.
