PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To profitably obtain a cell-proliferating factor by allowing a cation exchanger to adsorb the cell-proliferating factor from milk (derivative), eluting the adsorbed substance, and subsequently post-treating the obtained fraction rich in the cell-proliferating factor at a specific acidic pH. ;SOLUTION: This method for recovering a cell-proliferating factor or composition comprises passing milk or its derivative through a cation exchange column, eluting at least one kind of cell-proliferating factor adsorbed to the cation exchanger with a 0.2 M NaCl solution, a 0.3 M NaCl solution and 1.0 M NaCl solution, collecting a fraction eluted with the 0.3 M NaCl solution as a fraction rich in the cell-proliferating factor, post-treating the fraction at a pH of at least 3.5-4.5, and further subjecting the treated fraction to a desalting treatment and/or a concentration treatment by an ultrafiltration method, an electrophoresis method, etc. Thus, one or more kinds of cell-proliferating factors are profitably obtained from the milk or the milk derivative.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
