PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for readily producing a carbon black dispersion in which carbon black is finely dispersed in an aqueous medium in high concentration, which has excellent dispersion stability, low viscosity, suitable fluidity, ebony and high electroconductivity and to obtain the carbon black dispersion and a composition containing the same. ;SOLUTION: This method for producing an electroconductive highly concentrated carbon black dispersion comprises dispersing carbon black in a fine particle state having ≤80 mL/100 g DBP oil absorption, ≤0.03 μm average primary particle diameter, ≤200 m2/g specific surface area by BET method and pH in a neutral or alkali region in an aqueous medium by a pigment dispersant. An electroconductive highly concentrated carbon black dispersion is obtained by the method. An electroconductive coating material composition or an electroconductive roll ink composition for electrophotography contains the electroconductive highly concentrated carbon black dispersion.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
