PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a percussion sound by detecting style of rendition of a closed rim shot and an open rim shot by suppressing the number of output lines from percussion parts of an electronic percussion instrument.;SOLUTION: A piezoelectric element (i) of a percussion detection part 1 detects a head being hit. A 1st rim shot switch 11 (SW1) is provided at a distance from a player of rims and a 2nd rim shot switch 12 (SW2) is provided close to the player. The percussion detection part 1 and a musical sound control part 2 are connected with a stereo cable 3. The voltage of a 1st output line 31 when the SW1 is ON is made different from the voltage of the 1st output line when the SW2 is ON by using a resistor R1, and the 1st output line 31 of one series detects the operations of the SW1 and SW2. The closed rim shot is judged when the SW1 is ON and the open rim shot is judged when the SW2 is ON (SW1 is OFF).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
