PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dry exterior wall material construction method for easily and inexpensively constructing with favorable workability a structure of an exterior wall material supporting member for attaching exterior wall materials such as bricks or tiles to a building frame side.;SOLUTION: The exterior wall material 6 is attached to the exterior wall material supporting member made of a metal plate fixed to a vertical furring strip 4. In the exterior wall material supporting member 5 having a substantially U-shaped cross section, upper and lower flange parts 5a and 5b are inclined to open outward, and they have inwardly and roundly folded back locking parts 5c in tips. When the exterior wall material 6 is pressed against the exterior wall material supporting member 5 from a front face side, the flange parts 5a and 5b temporarily elastically opens, the exterior wall material 6 is inserted inside the U-shape, the folded back locking parts 5c are elastically restored, and locking protruding parts 6c are locked by the folded back locking parts 5c. The exterior wall material 6 can be attached to the exterior wall material supporting member 5 very easily.
