PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus by which a density can be measured always precisely without using calibration data and temperature data, which can be loaded on a machine body such as a rocket or the like and by which a measurement can be performed continuously. ;CONSTITUTION: A temperature holding container 11 in which a slash fluid 7 and a saturated liquid 8 taken out from the slash fluid are held at an identical temperature is installed. A fluid chamber 12 and a saturated liquid chamber 13 which are installed inside the container and which hold the slash fluid and the saturated liquid respectively and a separation device 14 which separates the saturated liquid from the slash fluid so as to be introduced into the saturated liquid chamber are installed. A first measuring instrument 15 which is installed in the fluid chamber and which measures the permittivity (a) of the slash fluid A, a second measuring instrument 16 which is installed in the saturatedy liquid chamber and which measures the liquid-phase permittivity (b) of the saturated liquid B and an arithmetic unit 18 are provided. By means of the arithmetic unit 18, a saturation temperature T for the saturated liquid and a solid-phase permittivity C corresponding to the temperature are computed on the basis of the measured liquid phase permittivity, and the density of the slash fluid is computed by using the liquid phase permittivity and the solid phase permittivity on the basis of the measured permittivity of the slash fluid.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
