RAPID TRANSFORMING METHOD OF COMPETENT CELL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten an operating time when transforming a bacterium with a plasmid DNA and provide a rapid transforming method which is carried out by an automatic transforming apparatus. SOLUTION: This rapid transforming method of a competent cell comprises a step for thawing the competent cell (10) at room temperature or in a vessel (15) in water bath, a step for mixing a plasmid DNA with the competent cell (20) in the vessel to provide a mixture (30), a step for carrying out thermal shock treatment of the mixture in the vessel by heating the mixture for about 0-180 sec, a step for planting the mixture to the selective medium (40) kept at about 0-30 deg.C by a planting instrument kept at about -90 deg.C to 30 deg.C and a step for culturing the mixture on a selective medium (50) to provide a transformed cell.
