PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform efficient storage and retrieval operation of commodities in/out of storage shelves.;SOLUTION: When storage and retrieval commands are given at the same time to a storage and retrieval dolly for transferring and picking the commodities to/out of predetermined shelf stages of the storage shelves, the storage and retrieval dolly performs storage and retrieval mixing operation. The storage and retrieval mixing operation means the operation of transferring and storing the commodities into the shelf stages in sequence during movement from the storage sides of the shelf stages to the retrieval sides and of picking and retrieving the commodities to be retrieved out of the shelf stages when an empty capacity enough to pick the commodities is produced in the storage and retrieval dolly during the movement.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
