METHOD FOR CONTINUOUSLY FORMING FRP PLATE AND FRP PROTECTIVE COVER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for producing an FRP plate, which has a thick-walled part in a given area along the width direction, with a good productivity and a constant quality by a continuous molding method.;SOLUTION: A resin is applied on a lower carrier film 11 moving along a given horizontal path, a reinforcing fiber mat 28 having the thick-walled part in the given area along the width direction is placed on it, a resin 37 is additionally fed over the thick-walled part of the reinforcing fiber mat 28 and an upper carrier film 42 is superposed over it. The whole set is squeezed, by a pair of squeeze rollers 51 and 52 whose gap is set up wider in the area corresponding to the thick-walled part and narrower in the rest of the area, so that the reinforcing fiber mat is wholly impregnated with the resin and degassed. The resin is thereafter heat cured, the upper and lower carrier films are peeled off and the FRP plate 1 is obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
