METHOD AND UNIT FOR MEASURING PRELOAD OF DOUBLE ROW ANGULAR CONTACT BALL BEARING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and unit capable of simply measuring a preload for a double row angular contact ball bearing completed assembling.;SOLUTION: In the method measuring a preload given to the double row angular contact ball bearing 2, one member of an inner ring 24 and outer ring 21 of the bearing has a double row of adjacent raceway grooves in an axial direction, and the other member is separated into two members in which each member has a single row raceway groove. Upon supporting that axial load is gradually increased to one-side member of the other member while the one member is positioned in an axial direction, axial load is detected when at least one of a group of balls mounted between the raceway groove of the remaining one-side member of the other member and the raceway groove of the one member opposing to the raceway groove of the remaining one-side member is displaced to a direction to lose a preload. Based on the detected results, the given preload of the double row angular contact ball bearing is confirmed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
