PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly, cheaply and exactly measure the thickness of thickening treatment part formed in a web.;SOLUTION: A web 20 is wound on a conveyer roller 10 with an angle of ca. 90 degrees. Above the winding roller 10, a displacement meter 30 is provided and its scanning part 31 and reception part 32 are provided downstream side and upstream side, respectively face to face putting the winding roller 10 in between. The scanning part 31 irradiates a scanning beam. The width (a) of the scanning beam 33 is in a range of 0.01 to 0.2 mm. The reception part 32, receiving the scanning beam from the scanning part 31, detects the displacement of an object to be measured arranged between the scanning part 31 and the reception part 32. By running the scanning part 31 and the reception part 32, the scanning beam 33 is scanned to measure the thickness of the thickening treatment part 21 and 23.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
