PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably shorten the construction time in a construction field when reinforcing an iron penstock generally hard to work. SOLUTION: This penstock reinforcing method has a fitting process for fitting a CFRP mold 11 previously molded in response to the shape of a steel pipe 1 as an iron penstock to be reinforced to the iron pipe 1 by enlarging the CFRP mold 11 having flexibility through an opening part (closing part) of the CFRP mold 11, an adhesive agent coating or filler filling process for coating the adhesive agent or filling the filler between the iron pipe 1 and the CFRP mold 11 before or after the fitting process, and a closing process for impregnating the opening part (closing part) 12 to close after fitting the CFRP mold 11 to the iron pipe 1.
