PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera, method, and system for downloading electronic images that have metadata identifying individual images previously excluded, within the camera, from first in-first out overwriting. PSOLUTION: In the method, a first plurality of electronic images are captured in the camera 10 and a memory 112 of the camera 10 is filled to the full capacity. A second plurality of electronic images are then captured in the camera 10. Individual tags are selectively assigned to one or more of the electronic images. During the capturing of the second plurality of electronic images, untagged images are replaced in the memory 112 on a first in-first out basis and tagged images are retained in the memory 112. The tagged and untagged electronic images are downloaded together to provide a set of downloaded images external to the camera 10.
