PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of simply and safely producing iodine-including articles, e.g. fiber sheets having iodine adsorbed on the fibers so that it may be used for disinfection and provide an iodine gas sustained releaser that can be used in water.;SOLUTION: A high molecular compound to which iodine is adsorbed is used as an iodine resource and the iodine gas liberated from the iodine resource is utilized to allow articles, e.g. fiber sheets or the like to adsorb iodine. In another embodiment, the high molecular compound to which iodine is adsorbed is covered with a sheet that permeates the gas but does not permeate liquid water whereby water is inhibited from intrusion into the iodine gas sustained releaser and the iodine gas may be slowly released into water without coming into contact with water.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
