PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pump which can suppress any swirl of the pump used for a semi-close type pump water suction tank, and a method for suppressing the swirl of the pump water suction tank.;SOLUTION: In the pump used for the semi-close type pump water suction tank, the pump 10 is disposed underwater by inserting a suction port 111 of a suction pipe 110 into a pump draw-out hole 210 of the water suction tank 200. A swirl blocking plate 11 which is located on a flow passage of the swirl generated around the suction port 111 to block the free water surface in the pump draw-out hole 210 from this swirl is installed on the outer circumference of the suction pipe 110.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
