MOLOKHEIYA-CONTAINING ANIMAL FEED AND METHOD FOR REARING ANIMAL

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molokheiya-containing animal feed which makes the best use of the higher characteristics of the nutritive ingredients, such as calcium, potassium, phosphorus, carotene, vitamin A, vitamin BSB1/SB, vitamin BSB2/SB, and iron, of the molokheiya than those of other animal feeds, is periodically given to a rearing target, such as livestock, fish, or bird, to enhance the disease resistance and meat quality of the animal such as livestock, fish or bird, and improves the meat tastes of the edible animals, and to provide a method for rearing the animal. PSOLUTION: This molokheiya-containing animal feed is prepared by cutting the green leaves or stems of the molokheiya in a size of about 1 to 10 mm, mixing a kneading feed as a filler with the cut green leaves or stems of molokheiya as such or the treated cut green leaves or stems of molokheiya obtained by preserving the cut green leaves or stems of the molokheiya by a freezing, refrigerating or freeze-drying method and then thawing the frozen cut green leaves or stems of the molokheiya, molding the mixture in a water content of 10 wt.%, or further subjecting the green leaves of the molokheiya and the molded molokheiya-containing animal feed to a thermal impregnation treatment at a temperature of 80C for about 10 min.
