PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightning alarm device capable of indicating the danger degree of a thunderbolt with a quantitative numeric value by computing the value obtained from a sensor, by a computer and automatically emitting an alarm when the value becomes the preset numeric value and to provide a lightning alarm method for detecting the approach direction of a thunderhead.;SOLUTION: This lightning alarm device is composed of a sensor means 12 consisting of a sensor for measuring a corona current, and a sensor for measuring the abrupt change of the electric field; an amplifying means 14 for amplifying a signal from the sensor for measuring the corona current, and a signal from the sensor for measuring the abrupt change of the electric field; an arithmetic means 16 for computing using a signal from the amplifying means 14; and an alarm means 18 for emitting an alarm according to a signal from the arithmetic means 16.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
