PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily update a database with operability of spreadsheet software that one is accustomed to use. SOLUTION: In a database update system such that a sheet 2 of the spreadsheet software can be used as an input screen for data update regarding the database 12 in a server, an administrator side defines, by an update condition defining means, the condition of updating the database regarding the spreadsheet software produced by using the function of the spreadsheet software, and pastes a database update condition definition on the spreadsheet by a database update condition definition sheet pasting means. The spreadsheet with the update condition definition pasted is distributed to a user. If the spreadsheet with the update condition definition pasted for which the user has inputted data is inputted to a server on the administrator side, the update condition definition pasted on the spreadsheet is analyzed by a database update condition definition analysis processing means in the server, and, in accordance with the data inputted on the spreadsheet, data in the database corresponding to the data are updated.
