PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for automatically imparting morpheme information to a dictionary database without having morpheme information imparted. PSOLUTION: In relation to the dictionary database using single words as direction words and having the direction words and explanation thereof as data, data each composed of one of the direction words and its explanation are sequentially introduced into a computer as respective records; a single word positioned at the head of the explanation is extracted from the introduced data to determine whether or not the single word at the head is an article of a language handled by the dictionary; when the single word at the head is the article, morpheme information representing a noun is added to the data record; and thus the morpheme is automatically imparted to each data record.
