LINKAGE SYSTEM OF 3D-CAD AND PDM SYSTEMS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hasten the time for sharing the information of a product configuration table in design and production and to improve the reliability of the product configuration table.;SOLUTION: A PDM system 14 is connected to a 3D-CAD system through a product configuration table forming system 13. The product configuration table forming system 13 reads 3D-CAD data from the 3D-CAD system, and extracts a part name with the data of a part configuration tree added thereto and the part attribute information and part shape data related to the part name. The extracted part name (including the data of the part configuration tree) and part attribute information are converted to a data format inputtable to the PDM system 14, and inputted to the PDM system 14 to form the product configuration table 15. The part attribute information is associated with each part name of the product configuration table 15, and the part shape data is also inputted to the PDM system 14 and associated with each part name of the product configuration table 15.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
