PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous road surface marking coating having excellent drying property, containing glass beads having excellent fixing properties, forming coating films having excellent waterproofness and having excellent adhesive property to road surfaces during an initial period of drying, and to provide a copolymer latex for the coating.;SOLUTION: The copolymer latex for an aqueous road surface marking coating is obtained through the emulsion polymerization of a monomer mixture consisting of 0.5-8 wt.% of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer, 0.5-5 wt.% of a hydroxy-containing monomer and 99-87 wt.% of other monomers copolymerizable with that these monomers. The copolymer latex has a viscosity of ≤500 mPa.s when determined under conditions of 60 wt.% of the concentration of solids, pH8 and 20°C by using a BM-type viscometer. The aqueous road surface marking coating contains the copolymer latex.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
