STEM CUTTER FOR FLOWERING PLANT SUCH AS CHRYSANTHEMUM MORIFOLIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stem cutter for cutting stems of chrysanthemum morifolium or carnation, allowing a user to use it in a standing posture, and designed so as to prevent the user from cutting stems except for target one in error or carelessly pulling out planted stocks.;SOLUTION: This stem cutter is operated as follows: setting a blade body 2 with its blade edge 3 facing upward on the end of a dimensionally long supporting rod 1 so as to surround the end of the blade body 2 with a guard rod 4; wherein one end of the guard rod 4 is left open toward the base part of the blade body so that the stem of a flowering plant are led inside the guard rod, full body of the stem cutter is pushed ahead under such conditions, and thereby the target stem of the flowering plant can be cut while the guard rod gets rid of the other stems except for the target one. In this operation, the cutting force acts so as to push the stem obliquely downwards, but not to pull out the stocks.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
