PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aquatic organism raising system and method for cleaning raising water, ensuring the raising water not to be discolored even if an aquatic organism is raised in a closed circulating system and thus ensuring the aquatic organism to be favorably observed continuously.;SOLUTION: This aquatic organism raising system with closed circulating system has the following scheme: denitrification reaction is carried out by combining electrochemical reaction with biological reaction using denitrifying bacteria in a denitrification tank 5; wherein, of electrodes for the electrochemical reaction, at least the anode 12 is made of a material other than carbonaceous one; further, as an embodiment, a support 13 for bearing the denitrifying bacteria is provided and a polymeric bubble-blocking membrane 14 for separating the support 13 and the anode 12 is also provided; as another embodiment, deaerating means 17, 18, 19 and 20 for deaerating the denitrification tank 5 are provided.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
