PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen remaining amount detecting device and a hydrogen supplying method for a hydrogen storage tank capable of simply and easily detecting a remaining amount of hydrogen in the hydrogen storage tank storing hydrogen storage alloy. SOLUTION: A hydrogen storage tank 1a storing a first hydrogen storage alloy (No.1 MH) and a second hydrogen storage alloy (No.2 MH), having metallic hydride producing energy different from one another, and a heat conductive medium for releasing hydrogen from the hydrogen storage alloy by heating the hydrogen storage tank 1a are provided, and further a hydrogen remaining amount detecting means is mounted for detecting the change of the temperature in the hydrogen storage tank 1a during releasing hydrogen from the hydrogen storage tank 1a, and detecting that the release of hydrogen in the first hydrogen storage alloy (No.1 MH) has been almost finished on the basis of the change of temperature.
