PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of laying an optical cable in a pipe of a sewer which can fix and withdraw a containing tube easily by combining non- electromagnetic inductive properties of the optical cable with properties of a permanent magnet.;SOLUTION: In order to lay an optical fiber cable in a pipe A of an already established sewer, a plurality of permanent magnets 3 are fixed to the upper parts or the side parts of the inner wall of the conduit A of the sewer at proper intervals. Magnetic elements or permanent magnets are provided on an inner wall or an outer wall of an optical fiber cable containing small diameter tube 1 longitudinally. The optical fiber cable containing small diameter tube 1 is inserted into the pipe A of the sewer and the magnetic elements or the permanent magnets of the optical fiber cable are attracted by the plurality of permanent magnets 3 fixed to the inner wall of the conduit A of the sewer to fix the optical fiber cable containing small diameter tube 1 to the upper parts or the side parts of the inner wall of the conduit A.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
