PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately carry out synchronization capture and synchronous tracking by accurately detecting the position of a preceding wave.;SOLUTION: The correlation value of a reception signal and an existing signal is obtained by a correlation value calculation section 16. Then, the correlation value is differentiated by a differentiation circuit 22, a position where a differential value increases suddenly is detected by the maximum-amount-of- change detection circuit 23, and a preceding wave is detected based on the position relationship by a preceding wave detection circuit 24. As a result, the position of the preceding wave can be accurately detected in reception even if communication is made under environment where multipaths exist and under a fading environment.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
