PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an existing bridge reinforcing method capable of reinforcing an existing bridge in response to a degree of deterioration and a damage, maintaining the effective use of the bridge, and having excellent reinforcing performance, economical efficiency and workability, and appropriate for the environment preservation.;SOLUTION: This existing bridge reinforcing method has a process for building an arch-like support material in parallel with a bridge axis of the existing bridge, a process for providing a hanger cable in the arch-like support material, a process for providing a cable fixing device for fixing the hanger cable to the existing bridge, a process for fixing the hanger cable to the cable fixing device and a process for giving the tensile force to the hanger cable.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
