PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control system capable of controlling apparatus under control such as a PVR, VCR, TV, radio set, stereo set, etc., installed in a remote room, using usual remote control units, accessories of the apparatus under control.;SOLUTION: A network PVR 12 is connected to a video receiving adapter 22 via a radio LAN. The adapter 22 has a receiver for IR remote control signals and transfers received remote control signals to the network PVR 12 via the radio LAN. The network PVR 12 identifier the apparatus under control, based on the received remote control signals, and e.g. outputs the same IR remote control signal as that received by the adapter 22, thereby controlling the identified apparatus under control.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
