DISPOSAL METHOD FOR VEGETABLE FOOD WASTE USING LARVA OF INSECT OF GENUS LEPIDOPTERA OF FAMILY NOCTUIDAE AND FEED USING PRODUCT THEREOF

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently produce a biological control material by disposing of various food wastes discharged from food processing processes by feeding insects of the genus Lepidoptera of the family Noctuidae on the wastes and using grown insect bodies as a feed for various kinds of organisms or a proliferation medium for various microorganisms or natural enemy insects. PSOLUTION: Wet or dried various food wastes are properly combined, blended, mixed and formed, on which larvae of Spodoptera litura, Laphygma exigua, Mamestra brassicoe, etc., being insects of the genus Lepidoptera of the family Noctuidae are fed so that the food wastes are safely treated without environmental loading. The insects of the genus Lepidoptera of the family Noctuidae abundantly contain animal nutrients, insect bodies obtained in the course of the waste treatment are used as they are as a feed for many animals. Since these insects are infected with pathogenic microbes specific to an individual species, they are used especially for proliferation and production of insect pathogenic virus and hosts of parasitic insects.
