PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of insufficient cooling speed at the opposite ends of a rapidly cooling solidified metal which causes coarsening of crystal grains at the opposite ends in the widthwise direction of the metal, even when the metal is warped on a rapidly cooling roll, in a production of a thin beltlike rare-earth magnet alloy by a roll rapidly cooling method.;SOLUTION: Molten metal 14 is teemed on the rapidly cooling roll 11 from the tip end 10b, by making the end portions of the residual portions excluding the center portion of the tundish smaller than the center portion in parallel with the axial direction of the rapidly cooling roll 11, using the tundish 10 for rapidly cooling roll teeming with the depth of the tip end 10b allowing the molten metal 14 to be teemed, in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the rapidly cooling roll 11 smaller in the center portion in parallel with the axial direction of the rapidly cooling roll 11 than in the end portions of the residual portions excluding the center portion.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
