PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for removing a bead wire wherein an operation for removing the bead wire from a waste tire is efficient and a structure is simple, and excellent in durability. PSOLUTION: An apparatus for removing the bead wire of the waste tire is composed of a means for extracting a wire comprising a tire holding means being the tire holding means containing a bottom plate and a side plate which support the waste tire and having a through hole open to the side plate within a range over from an aperture part for a rim of the held waste tire to the side surface, a hook main body which is provided to a side of the tire holding means and has a bent hook part capable of being engaged with the bead of the waste tire by being inserted into the aperture part for a wheel rim of the waste tire by being inserted through the through hole, a reciprocative drive means for extracting the bead wire from the bead by retreating the hook part engaged with the bead by advancing and retreating the hook main body, and a positioning means for carrying out relative positioning of the hook part and the bead of the waste tire so that the hook can be engaged with the bead wire by inserting the hook main body into the aperture part for the wheel rim of the waste tire.
