PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize an increase in cost of peripheral equipment connected to a personal computer and simplify an installation operation by a user.;SOLUTION: This peripheral equipment driver installation system comprises a personal computer 1 connectable to the Internet N, peripheral equipment 2 connected to the personal computer 1, and a driver control server 3 having information on driver for the peripheral equipment 2 stored therein. Information on connection to the driver control server 3 having information on the driver for the peripheral equipment is stored in the peripheral equipment 2. When the peripheral equipment is connected to the personal computer 1, the personal computer 1 reads the information on connection stored in the peripheral equipment 2 and, based on the information on connection, makes an access to the driver control server 3 on the Internet N, and installs the information on the driver for the peripheral equipment 2 from the driver control server 3 therein.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
